General

Checking the dimensions and dimensional tolerances of a pipe is very simple. The instrument suitable for this type of measurement is the gauge that allows you to calculate the diameter of the tube with an accuracy that, with digital gauges, can reach a hundredth of a millimeter. The correct use of the gauge for measuring a plastic pipe involves measuring the thickness of the pipe wall with the gauge and, by turning the pipe 90°, measuring the four points of the pipe wall. Finally, calculate the average of the four measurements.

At Mebra Plastik, thanks to our internal laboratory, we have all the data to be able to calculate the useful life of our products. Obviously, this calculation depends on the different characteristics of the pipe, on the environmental and working conditions to which the pipe will be subjected during its life. A pipe that must therefore work at low pressures, in an internal environment and at a controlled temperature, will certainly have a longer useful life than a pipe subject to high temperature changes, very high working pressures and atmospheric agents such as rain, snow or ultraviolet rays. The smallest outside diameter we currently produce is 1 mm, while the largest is 110 mm in diameter. The dimensions managed depend on the type of material.

The minimum managed length is 6 meters, below which we only make custom-made bar tubes. The maximum length depends on the type of material and packaging used. For more specific information, do not hesitate to contact us!

PU tubes boast better abrasion resistance and greater flexibility even at low temperatures making PU tubes less subject to tearing and hardening. PVC pipes, on the other hand, have better resistance to contact with acids and are cheaper.
